April Booth is a character seen in Machete.

Machete[]

April Booth, a.k.a. The Sister, is the only daughter of Michael Booth and June Booth. She is a drug-addicted, slutty mafia princess who has a dream to become an online model. She is first appeared in one of Booth's safe houses unconscious from drug usage and her father needs to kill all his henchmen there to get her back.

Later, in Booth estate, April reveals her desire to become an 'online model' to her parents, her mother does not say anything assuming she has no problem with it but her father strongly disagrees.

It's then revealed that her work online are, in fact, sex tapes, and that her mother's lack of concern about it is due to the fact that June herself shoots such sex tapes together with April, suggesting that the two might also be engaged in an incestuous affair. The two are later in the pool, naked and on the verge of shooting a video, when June wonders what would happen if Michael found out what they are doing, for which April reassures her that 'everyone' will see their sex tape. Just then, arrives Machete: both April and June are happy to film and have fun with him. He complies to get revenge on Michael and then drugs them and takes them, passed out and still naked, to Padre.

April and June, then, once the hangover is over, wake up in the church. They're disturbed by their lack of clothes, along with the realization of what Machete did to them, so April orders June to call for Michael, just for get answered that he's dead. While June is devastated and fainted, April spots a nun's habit, to which she displays strong intererst.

When the final battle against Torrenz and his henchman, April arrives to help the Network and wearing the nun's habit, showing her redemption along her new suppressed MAC-10. When Senator McLaughlin admits of killing her father, Michael Booth, April refuses to forgive or forget and shoots him three bullets on the chest, allegedly killing him.

From the name of the month, probably originally derived from Latin aperire "to open", referring to the opening of flowers. It has only been commonly used as a given name since the 1940s.
